Infiniti Considers Adopting Sibling Company's Platform in New Model

But what platform would be that be? You'll be happy to know it's none other than that of the turbocharged GT-R. Now we don't know about you, but we here at Beshoff Infiniti are thrilled to see our favorite luxury automaker taking an interested in such a heavily performance-driven model. In fact, Infiniti head of planning Francois Bancon has even been quoted as saying that the GT-R is simply "too good a platform to use on only one model."1
Of course, we realize that some of you out there might see the one rather large flaw that exists in translating the GT-R into a more Infiniti-flavored model. For those of you who aren't aware, it has to do with weight. A large part of the GT-R's performance comes from its weight - or lack thereof to be precise. And we all know that a large amount of the appeal of a luxury car comes from added features that other brands typically don't offer... Beginning to see where we're going with this?
Still, that doesn't mean that the option is off the table. Rather, the company is considering a few different options that would allow them to translate the style and performance of the lauded sports car to their way of doing things (i.e., something in the range of 542 horsepower and all-wheel drive).
The only downside to this news is that the company doesn't even have a concept planned for at least the next couple years. In other words, don't look for this theoretical vehicle on our lot here at 2198 Tully Road San Jose, CA 95122 anytime soon.
You will, however, still find a wide range of new Infiniti models, including the Infiniti G37x, M37, and QX56, when you check out our inventory online. What's more, arranging a test drive on any new or used car that we carry is as simple as can be. Simply dial (888) 458-1387 or by fill out our contact form online.
