Infiniti Announces Production of Special Edition FX50

While Infiniti certainly doesn't need to withhold a special edition model from its fan base to increase their demand for it, it certainly did the trick with the Sebastian Vettel edition of the already popular 2012 Infiniti FX50. The most powerful and exclusive Infiniti model to date made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and the Japanese luxury automaker wasn't kidding when they said it would be exclusive.
More specifically, it was originally planned to be a truly one-of-a-kind model, created for, and only for, Red Bull championship driver, Sebastian Vettel. But, as it goes, this didn't sit well with Vettel fans or Infiniti fans who both wanted to take a seat behind the wheel. Now, we should note that there is both good news and bad news that came of this increased demand, and we here at Beshoff Infiniti are dedicated to keeping you informed, so we thought we'd take a minute to share everything about this new model with you; the good, the bad, and the highly performance-driven details!
First, the good news is that Infiniti has caved, confirming that they'll be sending the Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel Edition into production. The bad news? It might not be heading to U.S. dealerships! Infiniti is currently citing a lack of Formula One interest from the U.S. market as a reason for not bringing the model overseas, but we can't help but counter that with the fact that you don't really have to be a diehard Formula One fan to enjoy the performance-driven upgrades found in this model.
To be exact, the Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel Edition is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine, which is capable of dishing out an impressive 414 horsepower. The vehicle is further improved by its reduced weight and tighter handling, thanks to stiffer springs and re-rated dampers. The most impressive aspect of this new variant of the Infiniti FX50, however, is the fact that it was designed using feedback that Sebastian Vettel gave in regards to his own experience driving the FX50.
