Infiniti Sells Essence Concept Sculptures

Infiniti is selling 300 copies of the Essence Concept sculpture. It's a resin casting inspired by the automaker's Essence concept car, which was unveiled last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nissan's luxury division. The sculptures are numbered, limited editions and will be sold globally. There no plans for a production run so, now is your time to buy one.

Luxury goods maker Louis Vuitton, which also produced luggage for the Essence show vehicle, constructed a case for the first Essence Sculpture. The Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite case was hand-made at the company's workshop in France. The sculpture and case were on display at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Infiniti recently undertook a long-term effort to move up the luxury car ranks - selling collectible art is part of that program. The Essence Sculpture will run you around $300. If you want a personalized case, you'll have to order it though Louis Vuitton's special-orders workshop.

The actual Essence vehicle is a hybrid gasoline - electric car, containing Nissan's 158 bhp electric engine and a turbocharged 434 bhp V6.

2012 Infiniti M35h — Hybrid Meets Luxury

Unveiled at the L.A. Auto show in 2010 and available at Infiniti retailers nationwide in 2011, the 2012 M35h is Infiniti's first hybrid sedan. Delivering the refined power of a V8 and the fuel economy of a 4-cylinder, it stands to break ground as the first true luxury performance "driver's" hybrid.

The 2012 Infiniti M35h features the new Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid (single-motor, two-clutch) system. This system incorporates an innovative Hybrid Electric Power Steering system and Electric Driven Intelligent Brake system - both designed to reduce energy consumption and enhance overall driving experience.  Taking things one step further…

2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year Contender Infiniti M

The new M, which comes in V-6 and V-8, and rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations, attempts to be different, but not always in the right way.

Design is a most radical step. On first look, our two examples-a rear-drive 37S with summer tires and an all-wheel-drive 56x with a massive 5.6-liter mill-didn't warm the judges. "The M looks like a largemouth bass," said guest judge Chris Theodore. "The interior is a sea of waves?

ALG, a subsidiary of DealerTrack Holdings, Inc. and the industry benchmark for residual values and depreciation data, today announced its 12th Annual Residual Value Awards, with Infiniti taking the awards for top luxury brand.

Infiniti EX Blind Spot Warning System

Infiniti is making changes to their security systems in all 2011 EX (EX35) models. Owners for 2011 will have an audible and visible signal to draw attention of drivers to any other cars falling in the blind spot. When activated, as the driver goes to change lanes, a warning sound is issued if there is a possibility of risk; in other words, a vehicle in your blind spot. Infiniti expects with these added security feature, the EX GT Premium models will become even more secure.

The Blind Spot Warning is another "feather in the cap for Infiniti," joining with their Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Brake Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Prevention to enhance the Dynamic Safety Shield's capabilities further. Lane Departure Prevention will be available standard on the GT Premium's V6 model.

Infiniti's EX line continues to be powered by the a 3.5-liter DOHC V6. This engine provides 297 horsepower. Factor in that the EX weighs only 3,979 lbs, acceleration isn't far off that of the Infiniti G. Nissan's VQ engine, which this Infiniti powerplant is based on, has received much praise since its introduction. In Europe, the EX is kicked up to a 3.7-liter V6, but US audiences have to make due with 3.5, due to emissions standards.
